When I don’t know what to draw I just try and put as many ridiculous things onto a page as I can. This usually ends up becoming some sort of rabid fire breathing animal.
I did have some initial concept for this one though. To do with a bear and anger…or something. Then I forgot and boom - FIRE BREATHING BEAR SHARK, YEAH.
Cat Skulls

New computer work! Still in sketch/work in progress stages (second obviously more completed then the first), but I thought I’d just give you a little preview of what I’m working on after months of no updates. I’m fucking obsessed with drawing these stupid cat skull things. Don’t ask.

I got new workspace!
It is in the back room of Hole In The Wall Gallery and behind the StreetX pop up shop - which you all need to go check out it’s open 10 to 5 Tuesday to Saturday!!! (Shameless plug). Thankz homiez for letting me use the desk space.
It’s looking kind of bare and dismal at the moment but I’m working on injecting some flavour into it. Feels good to exit the house and have somewhere to work besides soul-sucking uni labs!
Jane Doe Group Exhibition
My pieces for the Jane Doe show at HITW a couple months back. The show is taken down now but my pieces are still up (and for sale) during the StreetX pop up shop - feel free to come down to check them out in person if you missed out the first time.

This is my re-entry into the blogosphere. I obviously can’t keep up with more then two social media outlets at once, so get at me on Instagram - @heysweetcheeks - if you want more (I know you do).
p.s sorry for the shitty iPhone photos, I really need to invest in a decent point and shoot.

Perspective : Carbon 2012
Last weekend, I took a trip into Burn City with a few homies for - aside from party times - the 2012 Carbon festival run by Acclaim mag. I was super fucking keen for the weekend. For those of you who don’t know, I am studying design and advertising at Uni and graphics, branding and business, apart from art, are my other loves. This was an opportunity to learn and bask in the wisdom of like minded people who were leagues ahead of me. I could give you a detailed recount of what/who I saw, heard, met or I could just pass on what I got from it all.
In the last few months I’ve been going pretty slow in all honesty. Uni work has been a drag and there has been a general lack of motivation overall which I have been finding pretty terrifying. It didn’t feel like me. So the best thing I got out of Carbon 2012 was perspective.
Being in a room/group of people who are killing it, who have through their own means built everything they have accomplished through their own hard work has reminded me how little I have accomplished, I was nobody. How little I was. How young I was - I am only 19. I am only still at the beginning. Everything I have accomplished so far, while a start, was only sand grains compared to the colossal rock structures of achievements of half the people in that seminar room. This was humbling and reminded me how large the picture is and how wide the landscape spreads. It reminded me of the lofty goals I set myself. They have earned their place at the table. It was time for me to earn mine.
Motivation - check. Inspiration - acquired. Challenge - Accepted. Now, back to work.
(Okay FINE, a quick recount…speakers who ruled: Joy Yoon, Chaz Bojorquez (dude is the WISDOM), Mega of Blackscale, Eugene Kan and Nick Catchdubs. Launch party didn’t rule as hard as I thought it would rule. Phibs/Beastman show ruled. Never ending bar tab at Puma x Sneaker Freaker party ruled. Favela Rock ruled. 24 hour food everywhere ruled. Melbourne shopping ruled. Tiger Airways sucks.)
jordanbajc asked: Curator of the year!
Hahaha, no way, I wish. Thanks for coming out boyo, you get Homie of The Year!
Everyone check out this dudes stuff - he takes photos with his gameboys and makes chip tunes with them too. Fucking radballz type shit.
AND HE IS 10 POKEMON AWAY FROM CATCHING THEM ALL.
JANE DOE : An All-Girl Show at Hole In The Wall
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. Just posting to make an announcement of a little group show opening next week at Hole In The Wall Gallery!

CHECK OUT THE FACEBOOK EVENT HERE
Thanks to the Hole In The Wall team for inviting me to hop on board. Be sure to check out the things they are doing and look out for the things they got coming up (super rad stuff I promise!!). I think it’s not only important to support your local artists but also the rad independently run and operated behind-the-scenes teams like HITW who work so hard to bring cool stuff to the West Coast!!
Hope to see you guys there, come down for a drink and a chat!
Finally - COMPLETION!!!
Here’s the mixtape cover for super rad homies and Moombahton duo, Perreo Perreo, who have just dropped their first mixtape “Moombahton Mayhem Vol. 1”. I’ve also done their logo for them which I’ll post soon too. Be sure to give their music a listen and download here. Moombahton is sexy as shit and definitely has some huge, fun vibes to it plus these guys are fucking talented so be about it!!
So, this is also the reason why I’ve basically been nonexistent on here. Been also working on graphics for Blah (which I can’t post yet), other mini design jobs and new sketches/illustrations on the side pretty much since I’ve been back from the US. I’ll show you everything when I get round to it I guess. Uni starts again next week and new exciting plans have just popped up, so shit is about to get hectic again (yay!) but I still love you guys so hang in there <3
Another travel sketch - Just shitty iPhone pics for now but I’ll get proper scans for you soon as I’m home! My creative juices are starting to flow again I was getting a bit worried for a while. On the holiday front I am In NYC right now and it is FREEZING cold but this city is next level!!
